Even though the book of Psalms is in the Old Testament, I decided to play with it by adding images from the New Testament and allusions to Jesus:
- Word is capitalized to signify Jesus as the word
- the image of the Tree of Life found in Revelation 22
- the Life-Giving water of baptism
Psalm 1
The Two Paths
Those who know the Lord
and are true to their belovedness,
will recognize the path that takes them away from the light
to sit with those in darkness.
Those who seek the truth
will delight in and surround themselves with the Word
of love, forgiveness, justice and grace.
They are like the Tree of Life with twelve kinds of fruit
and leaves to heal the nations.
They grow even in seasons of rest.
Those who wander from the Life-Giving water
become dry.
They are lost to God’s people; they are alone.
The path of the wicked will not flourish.
The path of the Lord is Life.
Now I will continue to play as I write it in my visual journal and add pictures and color.
Peace in play,
Pam
